Book 4 Update + Book Sale

Happy New Year!

I know everyone is saying that now, but I mean it. This feels like the year to make so many things happen! For one, my fourth book in the Appalachian Mountain Mysteries series should be out by the middle of the year (more on that in a moment). And I plan to hit the road with my books, not just at bookshops but unconventional sites, too. I'll let you know my itinerary when I finalize it. I'd love to meet you in person!

I hope you have projects you're looking forward to completing in 2020. Something about the fresh start in January offers newfound hope and creativity.

The first book in my Appalachian Mountain Mysteries series, A Life for a Life, currently ranks #1, #3, and #11 in its three categories on Amazon. (That's out of thousands of books!) And good news—it's on sale this month. The e-version regularly sells for $4.99, but from January 15 through January 20, it’s only $0.99 on Amazon. (Click the book cover to go directly to its Amazon page.) If you’ve already read it, please tell your friends and family. I keep getting such positive feedback from readers, telling me how much they love the characters and stories. I'd appreciate your letting other folks know about this series.

Murder Ballad Blues

I'm about halfway through writing Book 4 (working title: Murder Ballad Blues). It’s a little different—more of a standalone now that the trilogy is completed, but it features the same beloved characters: Abit, Della, Alex, Fiona, Conor, and Mollie (plus some new ones). They’re making a lot of music together, especially the bluegrass kind.

Both Abit and Della get embroiled in intriguing investigations that upset the peacefulness of Laurel Falls, N.C. I’ve incorporated the serialized story I shared last year starring Nigel Steadman (Forged in Fear), though I needed to make a few tweaks so it would blend with the other storylines. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks and best wishes for a fun and productive 2020.
